When Rest is Best

When the body is weary and the mind is numb,
One cannot snap a finger and thumb
At flocks of troubles that silently come
And shove the spirit out of plumb.
Then locked eyelids slumber deep,
To spring apart at the sunlight's peep.
And all those pesky issues creep
To him whose body cries for sleep
And on his shoulders their burdens heap.
