The sun slinks away right on cue,
Bidding farewell with iridescent hues
Of orange, rouge and gold.
On the same stage west
Above the horizon's crest
A romantic drama unfolds:
Colossal Jupiter, our largest planet,
Five hundred million miles away,
And much closer, the vixen Venus,
Have dispatched their golden rays
From orbits deep in space
To vault the heavens and embrace.
The beams of the duo
Merge into a brilliant jewel
Against the inky backdrop
Of the vastness beyond;
A company of glistening stars.
Merrily twinkle from afar
Their esteem for the stellar bond.
